Inside the Culture of Resistance is a series of conversations that explores the vexing problems confronting artists who create art that challenges the status quo and celebrates a spirit of resistance, and aim to bring it to as large an audience as possible. The conversations focus on how the artists develop their work, how they connect with their audience, the artist’s history and relationship to their art form, and questions of subject matter, aesthetics, and technique. Reg E. Gaines interviews Savion Glover. The event also includes a dance performance by Savion Glover and poetry by Reg E. Gaines with Patience Higgins on saxophone.
