Thomas Hirschhorn’s work has stood out in recent decades for its bold aesthetic and political underpinnings. Tonight’s talk focuses on his work from Documenta 11 – Bataille Monument. Illustrated with a silent video, Hirschhorn takes us through the work from conception, through production, installation and its ultimate demise. He discusses the various issues surrounding presenting the work in Kassel, Germany.
