Confounding Expectations: Photography in Context—Photography©®™

The Aperture Foundation, the Photography Department of Parsons The New School for Design, and the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School present a new season of panel discussions focusing on photography. The first event, Photography©®™, addresses what every photographer working today needs to know about essential issues of photography and copyright in a digital age.
Panelists include Nancy E. Wolff, lawyer and partner at Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard, who specializes in intellectual property and digital media law; Eileen Flanagan, licensing director of Magnum Photos and former national president of the American Society of Picture Professionals, with longstanding experience in the photo licensing business including Corbis, Getty Images, and the Chicago Historical Society; as well as photographer-turned-industry-advocate Lou Lesko. Moderated by Michelle Bogre, associate professor of Photography at Parsons The New School for Design.
