Art in New York: What’s Hot this Fall?
Oct 3, 2001
6:00–8:00pm ET
Using current shows at local galleries as examples, Calvin Reid and John Zinsser will debate such issues as artist’s intent, subject matter, and historical relevance. They discuss how our perceptions of certain works change according to the political climate and reflect where the art world is going in light of the World Trade Center attack. After the initial presentations, the audience will be invited to join in an open discussion of the cultural functions and social significance of art galleries and museums today.
