Alexis Bhagat, a sound artist, performer, and writer from New York, discusses issues and concepts relating to democracy and branding. The recordings of these conversations that occur in both small and large groups of students will then be incorporated into the live performance piece, Lecture on Democracy as Word and Brand, presented in the gallery on December 2, 2008.
This charrette is hosted by Eugene Lang College faculty member Jesal Kapadia.
Charrette with artist and Lang students: 3:00—6:00 p.m.
This program has been made possible, in part, by a generous grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
This event is presented as part of the Vera List Center’s program cycle on ‘Branding Democracy,” and is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, OURS: Democracy in the Age of Branding, on view from October 15, 2008 to February 1, 2009.
