Bulgarian-born French writer, social philosopher, and critical theorist Tzvetan Todorov has discussed contemporary morality in a number of arts and culture frameworks. His many books, including The Fragility of Goodness, Facing the Extreme, and The Morals of History, address critical questions of how to shape democracy around diversity and pluralism. Focusing on lessons from Nazism and Stalinism, Todorov addresses reparations and apologies of past crimes in a nation-state context.
