Reaction + Action in the Art World

Oct 30, 2018

6:30–8:00pm ET

John L. Tishman Auditorium (U 100)
The New School
63 5th Ave, New York, NY 10003

Organized by ArtTable and copresented with the Vera List Center for Art and Politics, and The New School, this panel brings together top arts professionals at the forefront of creative and civic engagement to discuss their experiences with radical resistance and process.

For ArtTable’s Third Annual Leadership Series, we bring together creative individuals who are motivated by the socio political consequences of local and national issues. Since the 2016 election and the subsequent attacks on issues ranging from immigration to women’s health, artists and art professionals alike have been strategizing creative forms of resistance. In the context of urgency, artistic process is exchanged for quick turnarounds, profit replaced with public reception and exclusivity replaced with accessibility.
